I have John Houston Pryor in my tree because he is connected to the McVeys, Paxtons, and Houstons, who intermarried in several instances. The Paxtons and Houstons came out of Rockbridge County, Virginia, and the McVeys came out of Franklin County. Some of them ended up in Greenbrier County, and then various members migrated to Fayette, Monroe, and Kanawha Counties.
Several people on Ancestry.com posted this very informative autobiography written by John Houston Pryor, and I thought it might be helpful to some of my readers. There is much more information, including photos, shared by others on Ancestry.com. There is also a Find-A-Grave entry for John Houston Pryor, which includes his obituary. The photo below was posted by several people. I will remove the photo if requested by the original owner.
