1. Joseph J. POWERS
2. Early Roads. I'm trying to find routes of travel from Greenbriar County, near Alderson, to Upper Kanawha Valley. Also the route of Giles, Fayette, Kanawha Turnpike from Beckley to Kanawha Falls (To the original poster: See comment below. Subscriber Jeffrey Hamrick may have information that is relevant.)
3. Documented proof as to father of the John ARMISTEAD Jr who married Polly WOOD in Cumberland Co VA 1805. Polly was d/o Josiah L. and Ann BROWN WOOD of Powhatan Co VA.
4. Need to connect George PEGRAM (b.1806 in Guilford Co NC; m. Wilcia/Willie HARRISON 1 Sep 1827 in Guilford Co) to his eldest son Calvin W. PEGRAM (b.28 Jun 1828; d.6 Feb 1903 in Fayette Co WV-bur Mahoney Cem). Father George is last found 6 Sep 1860 on US census for Kimberling, Giles Co VA; does anyone have proof of later lived location(s), date/place of death, or a will for father George?
5. Patrick KEENAN not related to Edward KEENAN. Born Ireland, immigrated 1792, died in Pocahontas County about 1825. 2nd wife was Suzanne ARBAUGH. May have had land at one time around Cranberry listed as in Nicholas Co. Land in Sebert area as Bath County and then Pocahontas Co. DNA tracked! (Note from KB: He’s in the 1810 Monroe County census I posted.)
6. My brick wall is who were the parents of Benjamin DARLINGTON b. 1775 and died 1853, he married Mary "Polly" JOHNSON in Nicholas Co., 1810. I have been told he parents were Mathew and Mary DAVIS DARLINGTON and Benjamin lived in Kanawha and Nicholas Co., and Fayette Co. I have NEVER gotten any PROOF about who Benjamin's parents were. Even the Darlington book by Cope doesn't say. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I'd love to be in touch with the individual asking about early roads. For years I have been fairly obsessed with the exact route of the Old State Road, which predates the James and Kanawha Turnpike (aka the Midland Trail).
