Much has been written about this family—which is one of the best known of early settlers in Southern West Virginia. This may even be something I’ve posted before, but I don’t think I’ve shared all of it. Hopefully, this is helpful to Morris descendants. W. S. Laidley’s writing is generally very accurate, and I seek out his articles frequently. This one is from the West Virginia Historical Magazine and Quarterly of 1905 at archive.org. You can find more about the family in numerous other sources, including Wikipedia.
Note: Thomas Jones, son of John Jones and Frances Morris never married and had no children.
