First of all, I think FamilySearch.org has made some changes in the way their book search functions. I see a lot of the links I’ve posted lately from Family Search do not get you where you want to go. I apologize for that.
So, let me tell you a little more about the title above. Surely you know how to sign on to Family Search. It’s free, and I typically do a search for books that are online, especially those with full access (in the public domain). West Virginia and Its People is in three volumes. The one I posted a few days ago was Volume 2, which has genealogies of many families. I was frustrated because there was no index.
Today I discovered there is a Volume 3, and it also has genealogies of many families. You can find the index of family names at the end of Volume 3. I’ll post the Index below.
In case you are interested in Volume 1, it is focused on the history of West Virginia, and it is quite detailed. I suggest you peruse the Table of Contents to see if the book addresses anything related to your own research.
So, the index is below, but the page numbers shown are not going to match up with the “page viewer.” You’ll have to do some calculations to find the right page. Enjoy!
