Thank you so much for sharing this information. It all corresponds with what I have except I always thought that Aaron and Mediann met and married in Indiana. I'm not sure where I got that information. It confirms what I have heard, but was not sure about concerning the owning of the house that is now The Fayette County Historical Society. It was nice to hear you mention Mary Ann Walker. I have only talked to her once or twice in my life, even though we lived in the same town for years. I would love to share this information with my McVey-Butner group. Is this sharable? By the way, do you have any information on the Ballards, Thomas (not the policeman) and Dorothy? Dorothy had a dress shop In Oak Hill for years. My daughter, Jennifer, is married to their son Thomas L. Ballard. I have a story I would love to share with you about Aaron and Mediann that Irene Fitzwater Campbell, my 3rd cousin, gave me. How do I send that to you, if you are interested?

I'm glad you like it. MARYLU was very helpful; unfortunately, I have lost touch with her. Regarding the marriage of Aaron and Mediann, it was recorded in BOTH Indiana and Fayette County, WV, which is a mystery. I have Indiana in my records, and I can't find my documentation for them meeting in Missouri, but I will look for it. My book came out over 20 years ago, and the whole thing was online for free at one of the Rootsweb free sites that has now been taken down. (I requested that they do that.) So I'm sure my book has been copied many times. I am very proud of the work that went into it. It was especially interesting to figure out the connection between Aaron McVey and my McVeys. They had probably never met before Aaron moved to Fayette County, but it seems they did interact quite a bit in the Ansted area and there was even some intermarriage. You may share whatever you like. This is public now, but I will probably use a lot of it again in my new book that I am working on. I do not have any information on Ballards, but I know there was a strong Ballard presence in Southern WV and plan to look a little more closely in the near future. You can email me any time. wvfamilies1@substack.com
